Annotations are simply explanatory texts (comments) attached to knowledge nodes. Annotations are shown in the KE Assistant Window, the Annotation Window, in reports and as explanatory texts when evaluating inexact rule networks (i.e. when serving question rules, question series and question clusters). Pro/3 does not maintain or validate any element of logical integrity between the annotations and the related knowledge nodes (including referential integrity, i.e. Pro/3 does not delete an annotation even if the referred knowledge node is deleted). This can of course lead to confusion and errors unless the KE actively guards against this potential problem.
